Dishonest Patrick's question - Lee Abbott - 06-02-2016

Dishonest Patrick asked me (without a question mark): "Why do you think LHO went into the Theatre....."

I replied, "2 for 1 bags of popcorn on weekday afternoon shows."

Re: Dishonest Patrick's question - Ben Holmes - 06-02-2016

The more interesting solution is suggested by two facts.
  • He had two different dollar bills torn in half.
He was moving from chair to chair, sitting next to strangers each time.

This suggests that he was looking for an intelligence handler whom he didn't know - but could identify by producing the other half of one of his two dollar bills.

Now, this is the REASONABLE explanation for these known facts... believers won't be able to produce any other credible explanation.

Where does (Dollar_bill_halves.png) come from?

It's originally from the Dallas Police archives site... I pulled it from the Education Forum, I didn't have time to go find the original to post.

Re: Dishonest Patrick's question - Garry Puffer - 06-03-2016

I remember reading about the dollar bill halves years ago, but then when I went looking for info I could find nothing. They were not listed in the contents of Oswald's wallet, and something I read recently called them "box top halves." Then two days ago I ran into the photo Ben posted above. It was here:
<!-- m --><a class="postlink" href="http://harveyandlee.net/November/November_22.htm">http://harveyandlee.net/November/November_22.htm</a><!-- m -->

I was going to post something about this over on Amazon, but hadn't gotten around to it yet.

Ah! So I was wrong about the Dallas Police Archive site... no wonder I couldn't find it there!

Here's the paragraph describing this photo from the Harvey & Lee site:

Quote:NOTE: After his arrest, the police found two halves of two different dollar bills in his wallet (see below). This was a method of clandestine contact. Wherever and whenever Oswald met his contact, this person would provide confirmation of his identity with the other half of these dollar bills. Curiously, neither of these items were listed on the police inventory of 11/23/63, the joint FBI/DPD inventory of 11/26/63 (Oswald's so-called possessions), nor were they photographed. At the National Archives, in Adelphi, MD, I inspected and handled each item of inventory listed on the joint FBI/DPD inventory of 11/26/63. These items were not among the inventory.

I stand corrected, and now it's interesting that these torn dollar bills were not in the inventories... not surprising, really, since the FBI would certainly recognize their importance. (as they did with the Minox camera)

Re: Dishonest Patrick's question - Patrick C - 06-05-2016

Ref the $ bills .....Maybe Oswald was playing at spies Dex.....

Maybe the bills had nothing to do with the JFK assassination and something to do with another activity of Oswald's.....

This fails to account for the fact that these bills were in no inventory list.

And maybe he wasn't "playing," Patrick. I submit that carrying ONE half bill might be playing, but that frugal Oswald was not going to ruin TWO bills for no reason other than to "play" at spies. Besides, don't forget that he moved from seat to seat in the theater as if seeking a contact. There isn't really any other good reason for such behavior.

And no one suggested that the bills had any connection to the assassination, just to the world of intelligence, and the fact that these halves of dollar bills were kept secret strengthens that supposition.

Just another piece of evidence that Oswald did in fact work for U.S. intelligence in some way.
