Re: Basic Facts Of The Case - Patrick C - 06-24-2016

Brennan could never have been absolutely certain that the man was Oswald - it was too high up.

The Dealey Plaza web cam gives a reasonably clear picture of the street below - and you could not really pick out spefic individuals below unless you knew them.

I have been in that window with Larry Harris down below in 1983 and he said he could really only see that I was white, dark hair, and young - I was 23 at the time. This was before they made a museum out of it.

But Brennan DID get the basics correct.....

In his book of course he is reasonably clear that he thought it was Oswald, but he could not be 100% and so rightly he declined to give the positive ID. He was also scared out of his wits......

Me: Don't you really mean he got the basics of nearly every male adult in Dallas under 45 years old correct?

Brennan was so "scared" that he immediately ran to the nearest police officer to tell him what he knew.

The earliest statements are generally considered more accurate, as I'm sure you're aware of... before any possible intimidation, or thoughtful change...

Nor did Brennan get the "basics correct" - I rather doubt that the corroborating testimony regarding the assassin's clothing was wrong - and OSWALD WAS NOT WEARING IT.

Therefore, Brennan's EARLIEST statements were absolutely correct, his later statements provably WRONG. Your "opinon" to the contrary is meaningless.

Patrick C asserted: "In his (Howard Brennan) book of course he is reasonably clear that he thought it was Oswald, but he could not be 100% and so rightly he declined to give the positive ID. He was also scared out of his wits......"

Well, I suppose Oswald *DID* look more like the person Brennan saw if you compare Oswald with the 2 13 year olds, circus midget and bald headed China man next to him at the line-up.

Lee, fine post old boy....

Seriously, the man in the window was a young white male with hair around 160 lbs.....looks like Ozzie to me....

Of course we cannot be sure....but really come on.....

Re: Basic Facts Of The Case - Lee Abbott - 06-25-2016

Amos Euins looks like Oswald to believers, Patrick.

Basic Facts of the Case: LBJ Did It.

Re: Basic Facts Of The Case - Garry Puffer - 06-25-2016

RobertMorrow Wrote:Basic Facts of the Case: LBJ Did It.

I object to comments such as this one. Mr. Morrow, as we all know, is a vociferous proponent of the "LBJ was the mastermind" theory, an idea accepted by only a small minority of the WC critics.

It is in absolutely no sense of the term a fact, and Mr. Morrow is aware of this. Therefore this post just pollutes the thread in the same way an LNer post of "Oswald by himself" would.

Start a separate thread entitled LBJ Did it and argue the merits of your theory over there, please.

Re: Basic Facts Of The Case - Lee Abbott - 06-25-2016

This being a discussion venue, Garry, I'd like to hear more of Robert Morrow's thoughts on the "LBJ did it" theory.... Is it really too far fetched to think he and Hoover at least knew JFK was a marked man? ... In other words, if it was the perception of JFK's foreign policy that got him killed, it makes sense that those behind it would have made sure LBJ wouldn't pursue JFK's policies before Dallas.

Re: Basic Facts Of The Case - Patrick C - 06-25-2016

Just a suggestion....consider what people who were around LBJ said about his demeanour at Parkland after the shooting.....he was shaking like a leaf in a storm.....

Robert Morrow has extreme views on the case, claims his views as established facts when most are just opinions......he does have a good web site with lots of free PDFs of JFK books...

Personally I find the idea that LBJ was behind the assassination about as likely as Martians on the moon......

We all know that there were always plots against JFK, ongoing.....no one can say if LBJ was in favour of ignoring them - he had I expect no control over that. Hoover yes perhaps.....
