RE: Vincent Bugliosi's 53 Reasons... #40 Refuted.
officer j m poe was handed atleast two shells at 10th and patton . he was told by gerald hill to put his mark on these shells . HE DID , he scratched jmp on each of them . when he appeared in front of the warren commission and was handed shells his initals appeared nowhere on them .
as ben says above this raises serious chain of evidence issues , because the shells cant be identified as the same shells that were handed to poe .
the combination of bullets from officer tippit was 3 winchester and 1 remington , the shells in evidence are a combination of 2 winchester and 2 remington . the problem should be obvious.
i dont have the exact quotes to hand as i type this but i have another insight in the flawed and biased mentality of bugliosi . in his book in discussing jfks shooting he states categorically that there were ONLY 3 shots fired , why ? well because ONLY 3 shells were found . now lets fast forward to the scene of officer tippits shooting . here bugliosi asserts that not 4 but in fact 5 shots were fired , this is his way of trying to get around the bullet / shell combination problem . this despite the fact that he has no fifth bullet or fifth shell .
so on elm street if ONLY 3 shells are found that in bugliosis mind means that ONLY 3 shots were fired , but on 10th and patton 4 shells means that 5 shots were fired .
