Re: Dishonest Patrick's question

They were not listed in the contents of Oswald's wallet, and something I read recently called them "box top halves." Then two days ago I ran into the photo Ben posted above. It was here:

I was going to post something about this over on Amazon, but hadn't gotten around to it yet.
Ah! So I was wrong about the Dallas Police Archive site... no wonder I couldn't find it there!
Here's the paragraph describing this photo from the Harvey & Lee site:
Quote:NOTE: After his arrest, the police found two halves of two different dollar bills in his wallet (see below). This was a method of clandestine contact. Wherever and whenever Oswald met his contact, this person would provide confirmation of his identity with the other half of these dollar bills. Curiously, neither of these items were listed on the police inventory of 11/23/63, the joint FBI/DPD inventory of 11/26/63 (Oswald's so-called possessions), nor were they photographed. At the National Archives, in Adelphi, MD, I inspected and handled each item of inventory listed on the joint FBI/DPD inventory of 11/26/63. These items were not among the inventory.
I stand corrected, and now it's interesting that these torn dollar bills were not in the inventories... not surprising, really, since the FBI would certainly recognize their importance. (as they did with the Minox camera)
